  • Jim MacPherson

    Executive Director

    Hired as Executive Director in 2018 after 3 years of volunteer work at the museum in various capacities. Prior to becoming associated with the museum, Jim owned two small businesses in the service industry and was a senior executive with experience across a number of fields. He served in the US Navy from 1968-1983 aboard destroyers, cruisers, and frigates. He has been married to his wife, Pat for 32 years. He has a daughter Kimberley, son-in-law, George and two granddaughters, Avery and Isla.

  • Lori Marcus

    Public Events Coordinator

    Lori’s focus is to bring ideas to life in a professional, positive manner to create top notch fundraising events to the Museum. It is her passion to see her events come together with attendees smiling and having a great time.

  • Lora Haddox

    Private Events Coordinator

    Lora graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She practiced as an RN BSN for 30 years. Her career included Director of Nursing and Nursing Instructor at Delta College and Northshore Technical College. Lora is very active in our local community. Currently, she is president of the Madisonville Garden club, a board member for 12 years for the Maritime Museum and works part time as the Private Events Coordinator.

  • Owen Glendening

    Educator

    Owen joined the team in 2023 and oversees the museum's education, curatorial, and exhibit programs. He especially enjoys working with museum volunteers because of their friendliness, skills, and enthusiasm. Over the course of his career, Owen has developed a variety of natural and cultural programs most recently at the National World War II Museum. He and his wife Maureen have three children and four grandchildren. They moved to Mandeville in 2012.

  • Pat MacPherson

    Giftshop Manager

    Pat has been the gift shop manager for the last 5 years. Her background encompasses teaching, Human Resource administration and small business owner. Her husband and she moved to Louisiana to be closer to their kids and grandchildren and discovered the Maritime Museum as an added bonus. Her goal is to provide a positive experience for museum visitors with an opportunity to take home a quality souvenir in all price ranges.

  • Memory Green

    Administration

    Memory has been a resident of Madisonville since 2017 after living in Baton Rouge since Hurricane Katrina. She and her husband have 2 children, ages 30 and 27. They love their boating community and own a 46’ Cheoy Lee Trawler. Since working here, Memory has become fascinated with boats, any kind of boat! She loves her job because there is always something exciting happening, even if it’s just talking to fellow boat owners and hearing their adventure stories. She and her husband plan on circumnavigating the globe on their Cheoy Lee upon retirement.

  • Chloe Stephan

    Marketing Manager

    Chloe graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and a minor in Communication. She has worked at the Museum since April of 2021. Her favorite part of her job is creating content that encourages educational discoveries and makes people smile.

  • Paul Cavanaugh

    Facilities/Maintenance

    Paul was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and moved to Lacombe, LA in 2018. He was a construction foreman for a high-end custom home builder from 1976 to 2018. In the last few years, Paul was a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity of St. Tammany West.
